Sudoku Helper

Hi. My name is Michael and I’m addicted to Sudoku puzzles. While traveling, a friend showed me the Sudoku puzzle in USA Today and I was hooked. I ended up finding the great puzzles at sudoku.org.uk and created a tool in Excel to help me solve the puzzles. Now you can use the MpP Sudoku Helper too!

Highlights

The MpP Sudoku Helper has a number of features that make soliving puzzles easier. There will be a detailed page of features and instructions in the future but, for now, here are the highlights:

• Automatically grab the daily puzzle from sudoku.org.uk!
• Highlights invalid entries.
• Keeps track of your progress on many levels!
• Shows what numbers are missing in each rown and column!
• Gives you hints for possible numbers in each cell, using Excel’s comment feature!

If you have any suggestions, or find any bugs, please let me know.

Requirements

This tool was built using MS Excel 2002. It should work in any recent version of Excel, but I don't have access to other versions for testing. If you run into problems with a specific version,let me know.

The only other requirement is that you enable macros when you open the spreadsheet. A number of the functions require macros; if they aren’t enabled, things just won’t work.
